At Campout Weekend, we believe that nature is the perfect setting to build deeper connections, create lifelong memories, and embrace the joys of outdoor adventure. Our flagship event, Family Campout Weekend, is designed to give families a stress-free, fun-filled camping experience while celebrating community, culture, and togetherness.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide Black families with a welcoming, enriching outdoor experience where they can disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with nature and each other. Through thoughtfully planned activities, educational workshops, and immersive outdoor fun, we aim to inspire a love for nature, adventure, and family bonding.

Our Purpose

The Family Campout Weekend was created to encourage more Black families to explore the great outdoors. Historically, outdoor recreation has not always been accessible or widely embraced in our communities, and we are here to change that narrative. We want to create a safe and inviting space where Black families can experience the joy of camping—free from stress, worry, or unfamiliarity.

This weekend was designed to:

Why We Created Family Campout Weekend

For many Black families, outdoor experiences are not always a part of our traditions, and sometimes, the idea of camping can feel intimidating. Family Campout Weekend was born out of the need to create a safe and supportive space where families can explore, learn, and enjoy nature without the pressure of knowing it all.

This weekend is about inclusivity, adventure, and breaking generational barriers to the outdoors. Whether you’re an experienced camper or a first-timer, we’re here to guide you every step of the way. Our team has curated an incredible weekend full of activities, workshops, and entertainment that will make your time in nature fun, accessible, and unforgettable.
